MANNARO — REIKI PRACTITIONER (Master, SHIHAN, Level IV)

ABOUT REIKI ATTUNEMENTS
Attunements are given in four distinct phases, usually completed over a period of years, allowing the Reiki student to gradually integrate the new capacities, to practise, and to purify.

In the West, it is common to apply the term “master” to those who have completed all four Levels of Reiki Training. In Japan this is not generally accepted, owing to cultural factors such as humility and deference to one’s Teacher (the person who gives the Attunements), together with the understanding that many years are usually required to cultivate a high level of purity and expertise.

ATTUNEMENT LEVELS
At each level, Reiki Students attain the following cumulative capacities:

Level I — Shoden 初伝: Self-treatment.
Level II — Chuden 中伝: Treating self and others, distance practice.
Level III — Okuden 奥伝: Deeper embodiment of Reiki principles.
Level IV — Shinpiden 神秘伝 of Master/Teacher 師範 (Shihan):
Confers the ability and authorisation to give Attunements and to transmit the Teaching of Reiki to others.
